Het imposante MACBA (Museu d’art contemporani de Barcelona) is een indrukwekkend en heel erg stijlvol wit gebouw in het oude stadscentrum van Barcelona. Vooral prachtig wanneer het zonlicht langs de grote raampartijen naar binnen valt en het stijlvolle witte interieur helemaal laat opklaren. Het is makkelijk om het monumentale karakter van het gebouw extra in de verf te zetten, maar ik wou me liever concentreren op de kleine details en het minimalistisch design. Een museum als dit vraagt tenslotte om een minder doorsnee en meer creatieve aanpak. Met dat in gedachte en de leuze “less is more” focuste ik me op de kleine details, het lijnenspel en de overvloed aan licht.

The MACBA (Museu d’art contemporani de Barcelona), an impressive stylish and very modern building in the old city center of Barcelona is a must-see. Especially beautiful when the sunlight breaks through the large windows, filling the large white empty space with rays of light. It’s not hard to empower and show the grandness of this building. Instead, I wanted to focus on the small and minimal design. It’s a museum after all, that asks for a more ‘creative’ point of view. With that in mind, “less is more” kept going through my mind when wondering through this huge construction of white lines and emptiness.
